Reflective Week:
Let us reflect on the remarkable week we experienced with the BiG Africa Summit family in Gaborone, Botswana, where leaders in the gaming industry convened to exchange novel ideas aimed at advancing the sector.
Day 2: This day at the BiG Africa Summit kicked off as a somewhat unsettling day for me; however, it rapidly transformed into an exhilarating and inspiring experience alongside esteemed industry leaders with whom I had long aspired to share the stage.
Allow me to disclose that this was my first speaking engagement following my postpartum period, and as an experienced communicator, I did not foresee being overwhelmed by an unexpected surge of social anxiety while on stage. Indeed, postpartum social anxiety is a genuine phenomenon.

The extensive knowledge and experience of my esteemed panelists profoundly inspired me to engage in further research and take a proactive role in contributing to the advancement of this industry.
Their diverse insights and expert perspectives illuminated various facets of the field, prompting me to explore innovative approaches and potential solutions to existing challenges.
I recognise that by dedicating time to deepen my understanding and remain informed about the latest developments, I can play a meaningful part in fostering collaboration and driving progress within our community.
This realisation has motivated me to actively seek opportunities for engagement, dialogue, and contribution that will ultimately benefit not only my personal growth but also the collective advancement of our industry as a whole.
The subject matter we addressed was of significant importance for the future of the gaming industry: Harmonizing Gaming Regulations Across Africa: Opportunities and Challenges.
These were my key inputs:
✅ Harmonising gaming regulations enhances market entry by guaranteeing that uniform systems can be implemented seamlessly across various African countries.
✅ A robust and uniformed regulatory framework is essential in ensuring equitable practices, safeguarding consumer interests, deterring criminal activity within the industry, and bolstering economic stability for all participating countries.
✅ Harmony plays a pivotal role in preventing international operators from exploiting the regulatory discrepancies that exist among African nations.
✅ What is effective in one nation may prove insufficient in another due to varying cultural, legal, and economic contexts.
